Day 24: The sun is coming out.

Today we started our weekend by cleaning the house and checking in with family. I am still making it a priority for me to begin each day with some reading and journaling. With how much I have been trying to get back to friends in a timely manner, and everything being virutal right now, it has been very hard on my hands with my fibromyalgia. The game of autoimmune whack-a-mole continues!
Although typing can be hard too, I have gone back to using arthritic, compression gloves to help me get through all of the necessary daily tasks. One thing a lot of people misunderstand about folks at home who have been home for a disability already is that this changes oru routine in the opposite direction from most other people.
While I miss going to my gym and generally not feeling worried, it is actually really hard to keep up with the social pressures that come from "having time on your hands," especially if you are balancing several different illnesses and that is why you were home in the first place. I am hoping that as we move through this time, we can all give each other a little flexibility and grace to do what will be the most beneficial individually.
We did have a productive morning, with Alex doing a lot of the metaphorical "heavy lifting." It feels really good to just have the house clean, laundry done, pup exercised...it is settling. Also the smell of cookies baking (tonight's family skype session is themed with everyone making a baked good at their house) certainly doesn't hurt!

I am even starting to look forward to a dance class that we are going to try to attend this afternoon. The sun is coming out!
What will help you to recharge this weekend before taking on the next week of news and obligations? You are the best judge of you. Every time. Keep smiling, my friends.
Prepare, don't panic.
