Day 17: Turn Towards the Love

The weekend started off more like any weekend than we have had so far. Friday night brought with it several fun activities. We have really been enjoying zumba at home, and did a half an hour class before calling our grandparents to check in on the week's latest.
We had the opportunity to throw Rory's ball from the back porch for some fetch (we have a lovely fenced yard that we are excited to start planting soon). After getting cleaned up, we had homemade quesadillas, chips and dip, and lots of tasty soda.

In the evening we got on the biggest zoom chat to date with at least ten screens among several of our North Carolinian friends. We enjoyed each other's company, played an online version of the game, "Mafia," and ended the night with a remote game of Jackbox (kind of like online balderdash, for those who are familiar.)

Feeling sluggish this morning after all the activities from yesterday, we decided to start the day at 8 a.m. with another dance class (I know, I know...we definitely have some kind of bug!) and that helped energize us for the rest of the day's shenanigans. We cleaned and disinfected, took care of routine tasks (that feel less routine than normal), and talked to family/friends.
We also really lucked out in the music department today. First, we listened in on a live performance from an old, Irish guitar teacher of mine, John Doyle. If you are not familiar with his work, definitely go check it out on Spotify!

Later in the evening, we participated in a dance party hosted by We Banjo 3 from one of their live performances at the Kansas City Irish Fest from 2018. We played along, sang some of our favorite songs, and danced until we needed second showers. At the end of the night I received an incredibly exciting musical opportunity that we will be talking more about in upcoming posts. Stay tuned, friends. It's big!

Sandwiched between our musical ventures, we had a lovely video chat with our parents and siblings to catch up on each others' weeks (we had a spirit wear theme!) To cap the night off, we finished (for me, the first time!) the T.V. series, How I Met Your Mother. Personally, I am glad there are two endings to choose from. ;) We are looking forward to an exciting day tomorrow, full of possibility and choosing to turn toward the love...turn towards the love. :)

We are staying current on as much news as we can get our hands on and digest together. It is hard, painful process. We know there is suffering and sadness-often in our own house when we dwell on the things outside our dwelling. Writing these posts is not meant to ignore the negative, but rather encourage embracing the positive in moments when it feels doable.

Again...turn towards the love.
Prepare, don't panic.
